A series of Air operated Diaphragm pumps was designed for fluid transfer made of durable, PVDF and PP+GF. Corrosive materials can be handled successfully without damage, in any hazardous environment. Precise design and manufacturing was necessary in order to achieve flow efficiency and optimum performance.
Solid Engineering was engaged by Alphadynamic Pumps S.A. to develop the 3D CAD modeling for the Air Diaphragm pumps, in compliance with 2D technical drawings supplied by client's R&D Department, and proceeded with design optimization prior to tooling manufacturing.

Operational prototypes were made by CNC machining using thermoplastic material with same mechanical properties as actual production material. Performing testing in real operating conditions allowed us to extract precise results. Modifications in the 3D part designs were applied before tooling design.
Tooling design for all parts of the diaphragm pump was carried out. Mouldflow Analysis allowed Alphadynamic Pumps S.A. Engineering team and the mould making team to maximize part design and mould design. All injection moulding components were selected carefully considering mould structure strength, and part accuracy.
